Sharing or Transferring a WordPress Site

At Copilhost, you can easily share or transfer a WordPress site from one account to another. 🙂

• Share a site: Grants specific editing rights to another user. You remain the owner of the site.
• Transfer a site: Hands over full ownership to another user. You will lose access to the site once the process is complete.

How to Share a Site with Another User

Follow these steps to grant site access to a collaborator:

1. Click "Manage" on the site card you wish to share.
2. Select "Share & Transfer" from the left-hand menu.
3. Enter the email address of the person you want to share the site with and click "Add".
4. The recipient will receive an email to confirm the site sharing.

Note: If the recipient doesn't have a Copilhost account yet, they will be automatically redirected to the account creation page.

Once confirmed, the site will appear in their dashboard, and they will be able to manage it just like you.

Managing access: You can see who has access to your site directly under the sharing button.

To revoke access, simply click the "X" icon next to the user's email address.

How to Transfer Site Ownership

⚠️ Important Warnings:

• Loss of Access: If the recipient accepts the transfer, you will lose access to the site and its associated domain name (including subdomains and any sites hosted on them).
• Cloud Requirement: The recipient must have a Cloud plan to host the transferred site. If they don't have one, Copilhost will prompt them to create one during the acceptance process.

Steps to transfer ownership:

1. Navigate to the **"Share & Transfer" **tab and enter the recipient’s email address.
2. Click the "Transfer Ownership" button.
3. Confirm your choice in the pop-up window by clicking "Confirm".
4. Both you and the recipient must validate the transfer via the emails you receive.

The recipient will receive two separate emails:

• Email 1: To confirm the transfer of the domain name.
• Email 2: To accept the site transfer. Clicking "Accept" will redirect them to their CoPanel (or the sign-up page).

Finalizing the transfer: The transfer will remain "Pending" until you also validate the request via the confirmation email sent to your inbox.

Once you validate it, you will be redirected to your CoPanel, and the site will be officially moved to the recipient's account. 🎉
